The Gage County Workforce 101 committee of the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce has been collaborating with the Beatrice Public Schools reVISION process. Three points of focus were established by the reVISION subcommittee working on Career Opportunities:
- Build career-focus in our juniors and seniors through job shadowing/internships
- Increase involvement in student organizations
- Develop a 6 year plan for each student, taking them through their 4 years of high school and continuing for the first two years after
Your Chamber is helping with this by populating a list of member businesses that would be willing to participate in job shadowing, hosting tours for the Beatrice Public Schools Staff, or hosting an externship.
If you are interested in participating in this program, pleasefollow the link below, complete the survey and return to the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber serves an important role in the community providing information and services to members and nonmembers. We have successfully assisted businesses, groups and individuals for a really long time. Our Chamber's beginning dates back to 1880. Back in those days, we were called the Businessmen's Association. In 1898, the official name was changed to The Beatrice Commercial Club. It seems that in the early days of our organization, our forefathers had a tough time with names. In 1913, we were renamed The Beatrice Booster Club. In 1919, we became known as Beatrice Merchant's Association. Then finally in 1920, we found a name that really defined our role and it has stuck with us ever since… the Beatrice Chamber of Commerce.
During those early years, the Chamber of Commerce supported projects such as the streetlights and poles along South 6th Street during 1927, reductions in freight rates to Beatrice in 1928, a new water supply in 1930, the building of the municipal auditorium, and the creation of the Homestead National Monument Park. We were formally incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in 1948. Our Chamber really did a lot of things back in those old days. Quite honestly, we've stayed pretty busy ever since.
